A pre-tested 6V carbon-zinc lantern battery for your ADOR automatic door. This is the same type of battery included with every new ADOR door and is tested before shipping for voltage and performance.
Under normal conditions, it should provide at least one year of operation, although actual battery life can vary.

Battery Life
Under normal operating conditions, this 6V carbon-zinc lantern battery should provide at least one year of operation.
Actual battery life can vary. Some carbon-zinc batteries may have a shorter lifespan even when they initially meet our testing requirements.
ADOR does not provide a warranty on the battery because battery life can be affected by shipping, handling, and how the battery is used.
Looking for a Rechargeable Option?
ADOR currently sells a pre-tested carbon-zinc battery, but for longer-term use we recommend considering a rechargeable 6V LiFePO4 lantern battery.
ADOR does not currently offer a LiFePO4 battery. Compatible options can be found from third-party retailers such as Amazon.
Based on current experience, recharging approximately every six months is a reasonable starting point, although the required charging frequency may vary.
If you have a 120V AC receptacle available at your coop, you may also want to consider the ADOR Electric Power Kit.
Why Is My Battery Draining Quickly?
Short battery life is not always caused by the battery itself.
Door retries: If the door stops partially open and retries when you press the button, the issue may be an obstruction, warped frame, or weak motor.
Fast-flashing LED: If the LED flashes every few seconds, the ADOR is indicating that something is not operating normally. This could be a weak battery, recurring obstruction, or motor issue. Frequent LED flashing also uses additional battery power.
Manual or JOG mode: Leaving the ADOR in manual mode with the LED flashing rapidly uses extra battery power.
Program #5 — Last Call: This setting causes the door to operate twice as often and can significantly reduce battery life.
Friction or binding: Keep the sprocket teeth and sprocket holes lubricated. Also check that the door is not rubbing against the wall and that the coop installation has not warped the frame.
Battery Connection
Always connect the battery using the correct polarity:
RED → Positive (+)
BLACK → Negative (–)
If the battery is accidentally connected backward, disconnect it immediately. The ADOR will not operate normally with reversed polarity, and leaving the battery connected backward can quickly discharge it.
Correcting the connection right away should prevent problems.
How We Test Each Battery
Each battery is pre-tested before shipping against the following specifications:
Unloaded voltage: greater than 6.5V
Loaded voltage at 2 amps: greater than 5.0V
Internal resistance: less than 0.75 ohms
