What It Does

The ADOR1 is a complete, industrial-grade automatic chicken coop door that opens at sunrise and closes at dusk — every single day, without you lifting a finger. No clock to adjust as the seasons change. No worrying whether you remembered to lock up the flock. The ADOR1 handles it all on its own, powered by nothing more than an inexpensive 6-volt lantern battery.

The ADOR1 is constructed from heavy-duty 20-gauge galvanized steel — the same industrial and farm-grade quality you would expect from equipment built to live outside year-round. It operates in temperatures from -20°F to 115°F, and after testing equivalent to more than 35 years of daily open/close cycles, there was not enough wear on the sprocket or slides to affect performance. The ADOR1 is now in its 13th year of production, with tens of thousands of units in the field and an outstanding track record to show for it.

Predator Protection You Can Count On

The ADOR1 was designed with predator defense built in at every level:

• The sprocket drive stays engaged with the door at all times, making it extremely difficult for predators to force it open.
• A bottom guard rail blocks prying paws from wedging under the closed door.
• The door closes with a nominal 20 pounds of holding force — enough to keep determined animals out, while still sensing and stopping safely on any obstruction.

Smart Daylight Sensing — No Clock Needed

Unlike basic photocell devices that can be fooled by dark clouds, shade, or yard lights, the ADOR1 uses advanced infrared (IR) daylight sensing technology developed and refined over decades by our own engineer. It reliably distinguishes natural daylight from artificial light, shadows, and overcast skies — so your door opens and closes at the right time, every time.

Special features include:

• Open Delay — the door doesn't open the instant light appears, giving you control over early morning timing.
• Last Call — if there’s a problem with late-returning hens, this option re-opens the door to let them in.
• Manual Override — press the built-in pushbutton anytime to open or close on demand. The door automatically returns to automatic mode when conditions agree.

Easy Installation — No Assembly Required

The ADOR1 arrives ready to install. Just connect the included battery and mount it to your coop wall — it goes up as easily as hanging a picture, with one screw in each corner. The large 13" H x 10.5" W opening accommodates most breeds comfortably.

Need to cut a new opening? The ADOR1 serves as its own template. All you need is a drill, a level, a saw, and a screwdriver.
