In the right margin of the sliding panel, there are two magnets: one near the top right corner and one near the lower right corner. When a magnet appears behind the electronic board, the board senses it and stops the door at that location. The beeper emits a short beep when it senses the magnet.
If you have a missing magnet, first look to see if it is sliding around on the panel or look behind the battery box. They jump like fleas but (almost?) never fall off the door assembly. So you probably don't ever need to buy magnets.
The magnets glue in place, flush in the back and bossed in the front. They can be a bit tricky because they want to rotate in the hole before the glue sets (newer doors have a dimple and it is much easier to replace the magnet than in the older ones that have a hole in the panel for the magnet).
This item is free shipping to US 48 states, two magnets included.
